AI-native development studio, Leeds
Production software, built in weeks by product engineers who put AI to work.
IRLY is a development studio in Leeds. We build the software businesses run on, from agentic platforms that do the work to the products a whole industry logs into. Senior engineers make the decisions and set the guardrails. AI does the heavy lifting. Months become weeks, and nothing ships unchecked.
You know the problem. We know what to build to solve it.
The people inside a business understand its problems better than any outside consultant ever will. What they usually lack is a team that knows, precisely, what software would fix them and can build it before the problem changes shape.
Who we work with
From a founding team to a PE-backed portfolio company.
Startups
A first product you will not have to throw away, on foundations you can raise money against.
Growing businesses
The platform the business has outgrown its spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tools for. Built around how you work, and built to last.
Established firms
Putting AI to work inside the processes that run the business, or replacing a legacy system, without a two-year programme to do it.
Software companies and their investors
Rebuilding a product that has stopped keeping up, fast enough that the customers, the sales team and the domain experts are still there when it lands.
What we build
Software that does the work.
Most software built in the last fifteen years is a database with a form on top. The value has moved. We build systems that act: platforms that run a process end to end, products designed around what AI can now do, and the rebuilds that ageing software needs before its customers go elsewhere.
- 01Agentic platforms that carry a process from start to finish, with people stepping in where judgement is needed
- 02AI-native products designed from a blank page around what the models can do, rather than bolted on afterwards
- 03Rebuilds of established software products that have grown slow, bloated and expensive to change
- 04Customer portals, internal systems and the integrations that hold a business together
- 05Mobile apps where the job calls for one
How we work
The stages have not changed. The time between them has.
Every project is run by product engineers: senior people who bring product thinking and software engineering together in one role, own the decisions, set the guardrails and steer the AI. Where the job needs a team, it gets one. AI does the drafting, the implementation, the tests and the documentation, at a pace no team can match by hand. The handovers that used to eat the calendar are gone.
Six stages, swipe
Speed without the usual trade
Fast is only useful if it holds up.
Plenty of software is being produced quickly right now. Most of it works on the demo. These are the rules that make ours work on the second real user, and the ten thousandth.
Nothing ships unchecked
AI writes the code. Product engineers decide what it should do, set the constraints it works within, and verify the result: automated tests on every change, human review where the risk lives, and a named person accountable for every release.
Tests are not optional
Each feature comes with tests that check the behaviour you care about. A failing test blocks the release. There is no fast path around it.
Boring infrastructure
Well-understood platforms, encrypted data, least-privilege access, monitoring from day one. Nothing clever that you cannot hire for later.
You own everything
The code, the cloud accounts, the domain, the data. All in your name from the first commit. If you leave, you take everything with you.
Writing
What we have learned, written down.
Tell us what you are trying to build.
A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we are the right studio for it. If we are not, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
